What is an online Guest book?

An online Guest book is a place where family and friends from around the world can respond to a notice placed on www.starclassifieds.com.

Guest books are available for notices running under Deaths, In Memoriams, Births & Adoptions, Social Notices and Graduations.

How do I find a Guest book?

Guest books are for individual notices, so in order to view or sign a Guest book you must first find the birth notice, death notice or social notice that it belongs to.

From the Star Classifieds home page click on the type of announcement that the Guest book would be attached to, ie. Births, Deaths, In Memoriams or Announcements (includes all kinds of social notice).

From the search page that appears you can either browse only new notices placed today by clicking the browse button at the bottom of the page,

You may want to browse all notices placed over the past week, by unchecking the "Show New Notices Only" box and then clicking the browse button at the bottom of the page.

OR
You can go directly to the notice by entering the last name that would appear in the notice you are looking for in the "Name" field. After you have typed in the last name, click on SUBMIT and the system will search for that announcement

There will be a link at the bottom of the notice that says Sign/View Guest book. Click this link to open the Guest book window.

How does it work?

Fill in your name, city, province, e-mail address (if desired), and enter your comments. Click the Submit button to send your greeting. It will be updated on the Guest book page within one business day.

You can look up address and contact information for the funeral home, as well as for florists and charities by clicking the appropriate icon in the top right corner.

To view other entries in the Guest book, use the View Guest book link. You can print out a copy of the Guest book by using the Printer Friendly link.
